Hot yoga describes any type of yoga that is done in a heated room.
Our classes at salt are hot yoga classes. We offer hot classes and reduced heat classes depending on the type of yoga sequence. Regular classes are heated to approx. 40 degrees Celsius, reduced heat classes are heated from 25 to 35 degrees depending on the class. See the class descriptions for details.
Arrive at least 10-15 minutes before class starts so you can check in, ask questions, scope a spot in the hot room, and prepare your mind and body for class. Doors open 15 minutes before class and lock precisely at class time. To respect those relaxing and ready for class we have a no late entry policy.
We encourage you to wear breathable, light-weight workout attire (shorts, leggings, tank, sports bra), or whatever you’re comfortable moving and sweating in!
We have change rooms and showers for your convenience.
Consider bringing a change of clothes and a drip-proof bag for wet items after class.
Please bring a yoga mat, a large towel (standard bath towel works great), and a sealable water bottle. We have water filling stations and bottled water for purchase.
You can also rent a mat for $3.

There are plenty of benefits to a regular Hot Yoga practice. There are also some conditions and situations in which you may want stay out of the hot room. Practicing Yoga during pregnancy can be an amazing experience. Many who practice frequently are able to carry on their Hot Yoga practice throughout pregnancy, however, we strongly suggest that you discuss this process with your Doctor. If unsure, we recommend taking a break from the hot room. Any individual with any major or chronic health concerns effecting their ability to exercise safely should consult with their healthcare provider before attending Hot Yoga classes. If you are dealing with an injury that has caused substantial swelling it is best to wait a couple of days for the swelling to subside before resuming Hot Yoga, even if you feel like you could practice. If you’re feeling sick, dehydrated, physically depleted or are fighting a cold or flu it would be best to skip class until you recover. Hot Yoga is not generally a good choice for children. The ability to regulate core temperature through sweat requires fully developed sweat glands. Generally, this occurs in individuals after the onset of puberty, the exact age will vary from person to person. For this reason, we require that minors (under 18 years of age) receive permission from a parent or guardian prior to attending class.
Remember to hydrate before and after class! It’s best to practice on an empty stomach.
Avoid eating one to two hours before class
The Hot Room is a quiet space (except during Inferno Hot Pilates). Please respect the silence and
keep conversations in the lobby before and after class.
No cell phones or smart watches are permitted in the hot room, please leave them in the car or change room.
